Can't go, refunds, and when plans change
If the time or place moves you are told and your ticket still works. If you can't go, ask before you cancel a paid ticket — cancelling does not refund it.
If the date, time or place changes
You are told automatically: a notification if you have the app, an email if you got your ticket as a guest. Your ticket keeps working for the new time or place — you do not need a new one.
If you can't go
- Ask the organiser. Refunds are their call, and they can see whether your seat can go to someone on the waitlist.
- If they agree, they refund you from their guest list. The money goes back to the card you paid with, which can take 5 to 10 business days, and you get a notification or an email when it is on its way.
- If you cannot reach them, email support@afrilingua.ai with the event and the email address on the ticket.
A free ticket is different: cancel it from the ticket in the app. Your seat goes straight to whoever has been waiting longest.
If the event is called off
Talk to the organiser first. If you paid by card through us and you cannot get an answer, email support@afrilingua.ai — we hold the record of the payment and can refund it.
Passing a ticket to a friend
Tickets cannot be moved to another person yet. If you are buying for a group, get them together: up to ten in one go, with a name on each, and every one has its own code for the door.
Why the total is more than the ticket price
Unless the organiser chose to absorb it, our fee and the card processing are added on top of the ticket's face value, so the organiser is paid the face value in full. You see the full amount before you pay, never after.

Getting in, and finding your ticket again
An email is enough to be let in. Your ticket lives in that email and in the app if you make an account.
What it costs — every fee in one place
