Notifications, and turning them off
One switch per kind of thing, a master switch, and quiet hours. Emails about your account and your tickets always come.
Where the switches are
Settings › Notifications. Under “What can reach you” there is one switch for each kind of thing:
- My orders & sales
- New listings
- Runs near me
- Game invites
- My turn
- Social activity
- Aura check-ins
Turning one off stops it everywhere, not just on this phone. Above them is a master switch for all of it.
Quiet hours
Quiet hours hold notifications overnight — ten at night to seven in the morning unless you change them. The morning brief, if you want one, is set in the same place.
If nothing arrives on your phone
The Permissions panel in the same screen shows whether your phone lets us notify you. If it says denied, allow it in your phone's own settings for Afrilingua — the app cannot turn it back on for you.
Circles
Each circle has its own bell, off until you turn it on. On, you hear about the circle's announcements and the games and rooms opened in it; off, you still see everything when you open the circle, just without the ping.
Emails you cannot turn off
A few emails are part of how the account works rather than notifications: sign-in and reset codes, security alerts, your tickets, and invitations someone sent you. They come from noreply@afrilingua.ai and cannot be switched off.
