Running the door

Scan people in on the day. Sold and turned up are different numbers, and this is the one that tells you which you got.

On the day

Every ticket carries a code. Scanning it marks that person as arrived and stops the same ticket working a second time.

The guest list shows everyone holding a pass and whether they are in yet, so the person on the door and the person inside are looking at the same thing.

The number that matters afterwards

Sold and turned up are different numbers, and only one of them tells you anything about the next event. A hundred sold and sixty through the door is a useful fact; a hundred sold on its own is not.

Tickets you did not sell here

Tickets sold on another site cannot be scanned here or added to your guest list. Check those people in with the other site's own tools, and keep the two lists apart in your head at the door.

Your door team, and selling at the door

Door staff
Can scan tickets for this one event. Add them by their handle from the event's Team tab — they need an account. They get a notification, the event shows under Mine in their Events, and its page gives them Run the door instead of a ticket button.
Co-admin
Can edit the page and its shop selection, and let people in from the waitlist, as well as the door. Only you manage the team.
Selling at the door
On an iPhone you can take payment on the spot with Tap to Pay: the guest taps a card, a phone or a watch against yours, and is issued a ticket and checked in in the same motion. A walk-up does not have to give an email address.

Tap to Pay needs the iPhone app. There is no door-sale mode on Android or the web yet.
