What Afrilingua is

One account across a few different things: gatherings, a marketplace, circles, and an assistant.

Three names, one account

The names confuse people early, so they are worth ten seconds. They are not separate products you sign up for separately.

Afrilingua
The company, and the front door at afrilingua.ai. If you are reading this, you are on it.
Aura
The app, and the assistant inside it. Your own space: what you are hosting, selling, planning and asking.
Gist
The public, social side — the pages other people see, and the link that works for someone with no account at all.
One sign-in covers all of it. There is no separate Gist account to make.

What people actually come here to do

Host a gathering
A party, a wedding, a show. You get a page, a link, passes people can hold, and a door you can scan them in at.
Sell something
Goods, services, or tickets to your own thing — on a shop page with its own link.
Be findable
One page that is you, and one link you can paste anywhere.
Keep up with people
Circles, posts, and a feed that is about the people you actually know.

There is more underneath — an assistant, games, music, maps — but nobody needs it on day one, and none of it is in the way.

This is deliberate and worth knowing before you send anything to anyone. A gathering's link opens for a stranger: they can read the details and get a ticket with just an email address.

If they later make an account with that same email and verify it, whatever they were holding moves into it by itself. Nobody has to be talked into signing up before they are allowed to come to your party.

Is it safe to pay here?

  • Card payments are taken by Stripe, and local payments in several African currencies by Flutterwave — the same processors large shops use.
  • A card payment made through us can be refunded through us, and like any card purchase it can be disputed with your bank.
  • Paying a seller directly — by bank transfer or a payment app — is allowed and free, and it has none of that protection. Know which one you are doing.
  • Email from us comes from noreply@afrilingua.ai. We never ask for your password or a code by email, message or phone.
